Chris Martin and co are kicking off the UK leg of their world tour titled “A Head Full of Dreams”, in the city which gave them their break back in 1998 at the In the City Festival. Back then they were billed at 51st behind headliners Muse.
Billed as “the party of a lifetime”, the only other UK cities lucky enough to host this event will be London and Glasgow. Other locations for this tour include Buenos Aires, Santiago, Sao Paulo, Barcelona, Nice Zurich and many more USA, Latin America and European destinations. Over 2 million tickets have already sold for the “A Head Full of Dreams” tour.
The band have revealed that this tour will be different to their previous gigs, with fans invited to make requests live in each concert. From firm favourites such as Parachute and Fix you, to obscure B-sides, concert goers can request for their song of choice to be dedicated to them.
This tour will showcase the bands seventh studio album. Chris Martin is excited to perform the music which is said was “written to be performed live”.
2016 is a big year for the band, in February they performed the Superbowl half time show supported by guest appearances from both Bruno Mars and Beyonce. It has also been announced that Coldplay will be headlining Glastonbury by performing on the Pyramid stage on the Sunday night for a record 4th time having performed their in 2002, 2005 and 2011.
For concert goers staying at Clayton Hotel Manchester Airport, getting to and from the venue could not be easier. By car is takes approximately 25 minutes. Reception can assist with taxi transfers which cost approximately £25 one way. Alternatively, by public transport, the Manchester Airport Station which is across the road from the hotel offers metro link tram or train links into Manchester City centre. A train from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly takes roughly 22 minutes. From Manchester Piccadilly you can either walk the 25 minutes to the Etihad Stadium or take a metro link tram directly to the Etihad campus.
