History of Manchester United Football Club

Manchester United is a professional football club located at Old Trafford, Greater Manchester. They have won 20 league titles; more than any English football club in history. The football club was founded in 1878 as Newton Heath LYR Football club, it then changed its name to Manchester United in 1902 and moved to Old Trafford.

Between 2013 and 2014 Manchester United were the second highest earning football club in the world and remain to be one of the world’s leading clubs.

Hotel near Old Trafford

The airport offers easy access in and out of Manchester and has easy access to the train station. The hotel is a 15 minute/9 mile drive to Old Trafford Stadium, with parking available near the stadium. If you don’t want to drive, our reception team are more than happy to organise a taxi for you! The best way to avoid match day traffic when travelling to Old Trafford would be to use the great transport links from the Manchester Airport train station which is located next to the hotel. You can avail of our courtesy shuttle bus to the train station and get a train to either Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Oxford Road or Manchester Victoria Station. From the city centre you can get a bus or tram to Old Trafford which will take about 15 minutes.
